‘IT’S GOOD TO TALK,’ SAYS McINNES

ABERDEEN boss Derek McInnes admits he would welcome talks over signing an extension at Pittodrie.
The Dons gaffer reacted to club supremo Stewart Milne’s statement that he wants the manager to  be in place if they win their fight to move to a new stadium in 2020.

McInnes said: “It’s nice to know the chairman wants me to hang about.

“Everybody knows how happy I am here and I do feel there is still a lot of work to do.

“If the chairman’s wish is to sit down and talk about that, I would be happy to do so.

“But we have a lot of challenges ahead of us at the moment.

“The chairman is busy trying to drive home the stadium and training ground.

“And I’m busy trying to drive home performances on the pitch so that we can finish the season strongly.

“I’m sure we will get around to talking about that in the future.”

McInnes’ current contract will expire in the summer of 2019.
