RANGERS HATE MOB MAY DRIVE OUT KIERNAN

0
RANGERS defender Rob Kiernan could be forced out of the club after being verbally abused by a hate mob at Ibrox on Saturday.
The ugly incident occurred at half time during the 1-1 draw with Ross County, only three days after the 4-1 mauling from Hearts at Tynecastle.

With the Highlanders leading 1-0 at the interval, Kiernan, who had been dropped from Mark Warburton’s 18-man squad, was making his way to the players lounge when raging Gers supporters turned on the former Republic of Ireland youth team star.

Stewards had to swiftly intervene to prevent the flashpoint escalating.

The club have made no comment, but manager Warburton has spoken to the player about the unsavoury incident.

Kiernan joined the club from Wigan in July 2015, but has struggled for consistency in the top flight along with several team-mates with the side winning only 12 of their 24 Premiership games this season.

He is under contract until May 2018, but it is believed he is giving serious consideration to his future at the club.
