ANGRY LENNON RIPS INTO ‘UNPROFESSIONAL’ HIBS

0

RAGING Neil Lennon slammed his “embarrassing” and “unprofessional” Hibs flops after their 1-1 stalemate against Raith Rovers at Stark’s Park.

The angry Easter Road boss ripped into his team after they had to rely on a Jason Cummings’ free-kick to rescue a point after Ryan Stevenson’s opener for John Hughes’ team.

Lennon warned his players some will face the axe for the Scottish Cup replay against Hearts on Wednesday night.

The former Celtic gaffer fumed: “We were a disgrace. I didn’t even celebrate our goal.

“I’ve made it clear to them that was embarrassing, we were insipid and disrespectful to the opposition.

“Everything we did well last week was missing for the first hour. We’ve given a goal and an hour’s start to a team that hasn’t won in 14 games.

“The last half-hour was great, but it’s not what I want overall.

“It was unprofessional. We are going for a title here and the reason we haven’t been out of this league for three years is because they are complacent.

“They think they only need to turn up.

“Everyone keeps saying they are a passing team, but I don’t see it. You have to earn the right to play and we didn’t earn the right to play for a long time in this game.”

Lennon added: “Thinking of the game against Hearts is not an excuse. We had the chance to go nine points clear.

“I’m pleased we’ve gone seven clear, but there have been too many draws.

“It looked like we weren’t interested and we didn’t want it enough.

“So, some of them won’t play on Wednesday and if they want to know why, I’ll show them the first hour of that game.”
