ABERDEEN skipper Ryan Jack is confident a week in Dubai will give the Pittodrie players a massive boost as they look ahead to the second half of the season.
The Dons fly out to the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday for a warm weather training camp.
Derek McInnes’ side have arranged a friendly against Uzbekistan side FC Bunyodkor while they are in Dubai. They do not return to competitive action until they face Stranraer in a Scottish Cup fourth round tie at Pittodrie on January 21.Jack said: “Dubai will be good as we will get training in great conditions. Naturally, at this time of year in Scotland, that does not always come easy.
“We need to be sharp for when we come back as we have the tie with Stranraer, and we want to be at our best.
“After the disappointment of the League Cup Final, we want to get another Cup run going.
“We want to use the lesson of that day against Celtic as the spur to get back to Hampden again and to pick up a trophy this time.
“We are desperate to put things right on that front.”
Jack added: “This is the first time I have experienced a winter break. It is a good idea although it maybe needs looking at again because we just seemed to cram all the missing games into December which became a crazy month.
“There were so many games which doesn’t suit people at that time of year with money being tight.”
