CELTIC boss Brendan Rodgers is playing it cool in this month’s transfer window.
He is awaiting a work permit for 19-year-old Ivorian midfielder Kouassi Eboue and admitted there could be others in the pipeline.
He said: “We have a few targets I want to see if we can get in. If we don’t get anyone in January, then there is no drama.

“But we’d like to think we could get a few in to enhance the team going forward.”

Rodgers also praised Stuart Armstrong who picked up the December Player of the Year yesterday.

The former Dundee United player has been in sensational form this season and the Hoops boss admits he’s looking to extend his deal which still has 18 months to run.
He said: “It’s good for both Celtic and for Stuart that he can stay at Celtic.

“Again, it’s something me and him have regular communication on and it’s something the club is keen to do something on.

“He’s in a really good place right now and it’s just time. He has 18 months left, but I’m sure we can get something organised.

“It’s about value and worth. you never get your true value.

“We all think we should be on £6million a year, but you have to have what I call a convincer. You have your value and the convincer.

“The convincer is the one that makes you happy. It might not be what you want, but it allows you to do your job, work hard with a smile on your face and eventually you can get to that level.

“I’m one who believes a player earns that. It’s not that you just play six good games. You have to earn it and there has to be performance-related stuff that makes you earn it in the future, as well.

“Stuart is definitely one that will play an integral part in what I’m doing and he’s deserving of his Player of the Month award.”
