RANGERS boss Mark Warburton will be left with a goalkeeper problem when Matt Gilks quits the club this month.
The former Scotland international has grown frustrated with the lack of game-time as understudy to Wes Foderingham and is ready to move on.
Wigan could be first in the queue for the 34-year-old shotstopper who only joined the Ibrox side in the summer.
Gilks’ last game was the Betfred League Cup semi-final defeat against Celtic in October when his heroics kept the scoreline to 1-0 for the Hoops.
The keeper was unbeatable until the fading moments when Moussa Dembele broke the barrier with a neat backheel.
However, Gilks was dropped after the Hampden encounter and now believes his future is elsewhere.
Wigan gaffer Warren Joyce is on the look-out for an experienced No.1 after Adam Bogdan returned to Liverpool early from his loan deal after suffering an injury.
That has left the manager with only 41-year-old Jussi Jaaskelainen as his senior goalie.
