ABERDEEN have today knocked back a THIRD bid from Cardiff City for winger Jonny Hayes.
The offer from the Championship club is understood to be for £600,000 as they up the ante before the transfer window closes tomorrow.
The Dons have already rejected two bids of £500,000, each structured differently, for the Republic of Ireland international.
Hayes has 18 months left on his contract and boss Derek McInnes is desperate to keep the 29-year-old at Pittodrie.
McInnes has told the Welsh outfit they will not land the player on the cheap and insisted they had to “get serious” with any offer for the touchline ace.
Cardiff boss Neil Warnock had a bid for Blackburn Rovers winger Liam Feeney, 30, rejected at the weekend and has now refocused his attention on trying to secure Hayes.
But the Dons are not interested in doing business at their current valuation of one of their most consistent performers.
Aberdeen look like they will miss out on signing Celtic playmaker Kris Commons.
The former Nottingham Forest midfielder looks likely to re-join Hibernian where he has just completed a successful emergency loan period at the Championship high-flyers.
Commons has been out of favour at Parkhead since the arrival of Brendan Rodgers and with six months left on his contract he is free to speak to clubs, with the player keen to secure a two year deal.
