MOTHERWELL boss Mark McGhee has been given a three-match touchline ban for using abusive language towards a match official during the 2-0 defeat at Dundee on November 5.
The Scotland assistant manager was incensed with referee John Beaton over his failure to award a goal after opposing keeper David Mitchell appeared to carry Scott McDonald’s cross over the goalline at Dens Park.
McGhee will now have to watch the games against Kilmarnock and Aberdeen, twice, from the stands.
After the Tayside match, the Fir Park gaffer said: “I have seen the video again, the boy’s feet are over the line, the ball’s ahead of him.
“There is absolutely no doubt it is a goal. It is an absolutely shocking decision.
“I just asked the referee for an explanation. Of course, they don’t speak to you.”
