RANGERS star finder Frank McParland has been targeted by Birmingham City.
The St Andrews side’s new manager Gianfranco Zola wants the top Ibrox scout to join the club and help their drive towards promotion to the Premier League.
The Championship outfit sacked boss Gary Rowett in midweek and Zola is looking for fresh start at the Midlands outfit.
But McParland, who rejected similar overtures from Newcastle earlier in the season, is unlikely to make the switch and Rangers will be keen to hang onto the man whom boss Mark Warburton believes is one of the best talent spotters in British football.
McParland was instrumental in bringing young Liverpool prospect Jordan Rossiter and highly rated Leicester City kid Joe Dodoo to the club.
He was also responsible for identifying Accrington Stanley duo Josh Windass and Matt Crooks.
And with the club working to a limited budget, Warburton believes his recruitment chief’s role is one of the most important for the team in the long term.
