VETERAN Italian Massimo Donati reckons a repeat of Hamilton’s performance against his old club Celtic can earn Accies success against Rangers.

The 35-year-old was disappointed his team were unable to take anything in their 1-0 defeat against the Hoops at Parkhead on Tuesday evening.
The Ibrox men are next on the agenda at New Douglas Park tomorrow night and the Accies star feels a repeat display will be enough to trouble Mark Warburton’s outfit.

Hamilton took a point from Ibrox on the opening day of the league season and Donati said: “We need some points and if the performance is like the Celtic one, then we can do it.

“We were maybe a bit unlucky. We know Celtic are a very good team and we had to try to frustrate their fans and take some of our chances.

“We defended well and had some chances in the last 20 minutes to score.”

Donati had a chance at 0-0 with a header, but was unable to take the opportunity as Accies could not halt Brendan Rodgers’ record-breaking team.

He added: “It was a half-opportunity. The ball was very good, but I headed the ball when I was coming down and couldn’t get power on it.”
