0

YOU wait around for over a Century for a Scottish Cup to come along and them two come at the same time!

That’s the remarkable story down Easter Road way these days as Hibernian Ladies added to the Scottish Cup haul at the weekend beating Glasgow City 6-5 on penalties after the game had finished 1-1 after extra time.

Lisa Robertson opened the scoring for Hibs in the first half, before Hayley Lauder equalised for City after the break. The game remained at 1-1 until the end of 120 minutes of football.83518c3a3a18299c169f06d8f004da13-png

The dramatic penalty shoot-out went to sudden death and City’s Sam Kerr unfortunately for her blazed her penalty over the bar – sparking scenes of jubilation from the Hibernian supporters and players.

Hibernian Ladies took onto the field looking to secure the cup double in the women’s game in Scotland, having taken the SWPL Cup in June after defeating City 2-1 at Ainslie Park in Edinburgh.

Chairman Rod Petrie, Chief Executive Leeann Dempster  and the other Hibs directors were this able to proudly show both Scottish Cups at last night’s AG

The first team of course won the Scottish Cup back in May at that unforgettable match at Hampden, defeating Rangers by 3-2 after trailing going into the last ten minutes.
