Fan confirmed dead after Rangers supporters bus crash Bus taking fans to Ibrox crashes near Mauchline in Ayrshire


A Rangers supporters bus taking fans to Saturday’s league game at Ibrox against Partick Thistle has crashed on the A76 near Mauchline in Ayrshire, with a 39-year-old man confirmed to have died.

The crash happened at around 1pm and Police have closed the road in both directions at the Crossroads roundabout.

A police statement said: “Police Scotland can confirm a 39 year old man has died following a serious coach crash on the A76 near Crosshouse Roundabout. A report will be prepared for the Procurator Fiscal.”

A total 18 people were reportedly taken to hospital and it has been confirmed that three people are in a serious condition. There were 36 people on board the bus, including the driver.

Several ambulances, five fire engines and specialist officers were called out to the incident.
