CUP FINAL TICKET DETAILS AND A 50/50 SPLIT AGREED ABERDEEN AND CELTIC GET EQUAL TICKET SHARE

0

THE SPFL have today released details of the ticket arrangements for next month’s Betfred Cup Final and it is good news for Derek McInnes.

Yesterday the Aberdeen manager claimed that it would be a disgrace if the football authorities didn’t allow a 50/50 split in tickets for the Final, whereas some Celtic supporters claimed that as the Parkhead side had thousands more season ticket holders they should have a large slice of the allocation to accommodate supporters who commit to their club for the season.

Celtic and Rangers shared equally the tickets for Sunday’s semi final which Celtic won 1-0. Aberdeen overcame Morton the day before, securing a 2-0 win in a Hampden Park that had a considerably lower crowd. unspecified-50

Neil Doncaster, Chief Executive of the SPFL commented: “The SPFL would like to congratulate both Aberdeen and Celtic for making it to the first showpiece final of the Scottish football season, with its return to a pre-Christmas date proving very popular with supporters. We are pleased to announce that both clubs will enjoy an equal share of tickets for the 2016 Betfred Cup Final which is shaping up to be another brilliant footballing occasion.”

The clubs will announce ticket sale information via their own channels in due course.

Aberdeen will accordingly bring around 25,000 supporters to Glasgow for the Final and should be able to accommodate almost all requests for tickets.

Celtic, who could fill Hampden with their season ticket holders, will now have to decide on the fairest method of distributing tickets with around 25,000 season ticket holders certain to be disappointed.
