Celtic announce 24-man Champions League squad Commons and Ambrose miss out


Celtic have announced their 24-man squad for the group stage of the Champions League to face Barcelona, Manchester City and Borussia Mönchengladbach.

However, Brendan Rodgers has left out Kris Commons, Efe Ambrose and Kristoffer Ajer from the squad. But there is a place for Croatian centre-back Jozo Simunovic, who was set for a £3.5 million move to Torino on transfer deadline day before the club pulled the plug after the Italian side tried to change the terms of the deal.

The Scottish champions’ first game in the group stages is away to Spanish giants Barcelona on the 13th September.
