Former Motherwell, Derby and Preston North End manager Billy Davies has pulled the plug on talks with St.Mirren over the vacant manager’s job.
The 32-year-old was the bookies favourite to succeed Alex Rae, who was sacked after nine months in the job and with the Paisley side rooted to the bottom of the Championship.
Speaking to BBC Scotland, Davies said: “I show respect to every club when they approach me. I’ve met the club officials a few times over the last few weeks and can confirm that, in response to press questions, I will not be taking part in the future of St Mirren Football Club.”
Davies has been out of management since being sacked by Nottingham Forest in March 2014.
