While Scotland may have been the only home nation not to qualify for Euro 2016, there is no denying that our game has had its own moments in the limelight over the years.

England 2-3 Scotland

15th April 1967

Even though Scotland’s squad featured a number of legendary names, they were still massive underdogs when they travelled to Wembley in the spring of 1967 for a European Championship qualifier.

England were the reigning World Cup champions and hadn’t lost in 19 matches, but that winning run looked to be in trouble as early as the 27th minute when Denis Law scored for Scotland. The sides would then score two more goals each in the final 12 minutes of a dramatic encounter. When the final whistle blew, Scotland had won 3-2 and with that declared themselves unofficial world champions.
