It was a dream debut for Celtic new bhoy Scott Sinclair as he scored just 20 minutes after coming on as a substitute.
James Forrest gave the Scottish champions the lead early on in the first half, before Hearts were awarded a penalty after referee John Beaton deemed that Jamie Walker had been brought down inside the box.
However, Sinclair – who had been unveiled as Brendan Rodgers’ third summer signing hours earlier – latched onto a superb cross from Leigh Griffiths to secure all three points in Rodgers’ first league match as Celtic boss.
