Craig Reid leaves Motherwell by mutual consent

Motherwell have announced that defender Craig Reid has left the club by mutual consent.

The 29-year-old joined the club back in January 2014 and will be remembered for his one and only goal for the Steelmen when they beat the Dons 1-0 to leapfrog the Pittodrie side into second spot in May 2014.

Injury plagued the defender last season with his final game for Motherwell coming in the 3-2 defeat to Ross County in February 2015.

He was loaned out to St.Mirren at the start of this season, but was sent off on his debut in the 3-0 defeat to Falkirk.

Motherwell’s General Manager paid tribute to the departing Reid via his official twitter account:

In total he made 38 appearances for the Lanarkshire side.
