Celtic flop Nadir Ciftci signs for Eskisehirspor

Celtic have confirmed that Nadir Ciftci has signed for Turkish Super Lig side Eskisehirspor on loan until the end of the season.

Ciftci signed from Dundee United last summer, but he has failed to usurp Leigh Griffiths as Celtic’s main striker and has made just 22 appearances in all competitions scoring just four times.

Former Celtic striker Pierre van Hooijdonk who represents the player, speaking to Sky Sports, said: “Nadir is currently on his way to Turkey. Nadir just wants to play football and hopefully this will allow him to do that.”

With the signing of Manchester City youngster Patrick Roberts and Colin Kazim-Richards from Feyenoord, Ciftci’s time at Celtic was at an end whether he went out on loan or not.

Meanwhile, Celtic youngsters Aidan Nesbitt and Jack Breslin have both gone out on loan until the end of the season to Partick Thistle and Annan Athletic respectively.
