Man City striker joins Celtic on 18 month loan deal

Celtic have signed Manchester City youngster Patrick Roberts on an 18-month loan deal, subject to the player passing a medical this weekend.

The 19-year-old signed for City in the summer for a fee of around £12 million from Fulham after making 22 appearances for the London side.

With just three first team appearances under his belt at the Etihad this season, Roberts has been farmed out on loan to secure first team football following in the footsteps of striker John Guidetti and defender Jason Denayer who all signed for Celtic on loan from Manchester City last season.

He is Ronny Deila’s second signing of the January transfer window following on from the capture of defender Erik Sviatchenko from FC Midtjylland for a reported fee of £1.5 million.
