Jack Ross announced as the new Alloa manager

Former St.Mirren and Falkirk defender Jack Ross has been named as the new manager of Alloa Athletic.

Ross, who previously worked as assistant manager at Dumbarton and as a coach at Hearts, fills the vacant position following the departure of Danny Lennon last week and will now take up the manager’s role for the first time in his career.

Alloa are rooted to the bottom of the Championship, but they secured an important three points after beating Livingston 1-0 at the weekend under caretaker boss Paddy Connelly to give them some hope of escaping the drop zone.

Ross has signed a deal with the Championship side until the end of the season. His first game in charge will be against his former side St.Mirren on Saturday.
