Celtic recall Ryan Christie from Inverness Caley Thistle

Celtic have announced the recall of Ryan Christie from a season-long loan to Inverness Caledonian Thistle, exercising their option of bringing the player back to Glasgow in January.

The 20-year-old was signed by Ronny Deila’s side in August on a four-year deal but was immediately loaned back to Inverness for the season.

Christie has not played since November after picking up a knee injury in the Highland outfit’s 3-1 win over Motherwell.

Following the announcement by Celtic, Inverness Caley Thistle issued a statement via their official club website, it read: “As a product of our Youth Development System, we are extremely proud of everything Ryan has achieved to date.

“His doubtless talent has really come to the fore in recent seasons whilst under the guidance of ICTFC Manager, John Hughes, and we hope his achievements continue to serve as an incentive for other local young players.

“We wish Ryan a speedy recovery from his current knee injury and all the best for what we predict will be a great future in the game.”
