Crystal Palace – The season so far

The Eagles were in an unpleasant predicament and were serious relegation contenders back in January, but it seems like Alan Pardew’s team have finally startled awake and shifted gears as they now find themselves in tenth spot.

Competing in top flight football in any country is no walk in the park, let alone in England. The English Premier League is arguably the world’s most competitive football league and as we are reminded time and again by Premier League managers and players, it is absolutely unpredictable. To bear testimony to that statement, all you need to do is take a look at Chelsea, because the defending champions are having an absolute shocker and are now placed 15th in the league. Around this time last year, they were obliterating other teams with total dominance. Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea has become the laughing stock of English football and their recent form is also the main subject of some hilarious internet memes and parodies.

Pardew’s boys may have steadied the ship for the time being but the season is far from over and the reality is that it is going to be an uphill battle for the side from South Norwood. It is therefore a good thing that they strengthened up the squad in the summer. Pardew spent big bucks over the summer and made some signings that suggested that he was looking to change the style in which the beautiful game is played at Selhurst Park. Crystal Palace have welcomed the likes of Yohan Cabaye, Connor Wickham, Alex McCarthy, BakarySako and Patrick Bamford. The new comers (most of them at least) have definitely sparked winning ways at Crystal Palace and there are even talks about how the club can now move on to bigger things (rather than just surviving season after season from the jaws of relegation) like European campaigns.

The new found vigor at Selhurst Park has impressed not only the fans, but also the clubs new official sponsor, Mansion Group. Mansion Group is the owners of the very popular online gambling site – casino.com. A new manager, quality new players and a new sponsor! Things are certainly looking good for Crystal Palace, but they know very well not to expect smooth sailing in the Premier League. They are also one of the investors in an Asian online gambling site called “Dafabet.”

Only recently, the Eagles even managed to disappoint some revered opposition. They were able to snatch a point from Manchester united in a goalless draw and then travelled to Merseyside and actually beat Liverpool 2-1.
Comparatively, they have a much easier set of fixtures coming up. Pardew will host his former club Newcastle United next as he looks to prove a point to the Magpie fans that played a role in his unceremonious departure from the club back in January. After Newcastle, the Eagles are scheduled to face Everton, Southampton and Stoke City, and these are all fixtures that they will not want to drop any points on.

Its a fully trademarked concept which means boomtownbingo.com get more people to your event and you get to charge more for people to come.

It’s still too early to tell where Crystal Palace will place this season, but there is certainly an excitement in the air. After a very long time, there is hope.
