Man United youngster Tyler Blackett signs for Celtic

Celtic have announced the signing of Tyler Blackett on a season long loan deal from Manchester United.

The 21-year-old broke into the Manchester United first team last season after rising through the ranks at the Old Trafford side.

He had signed a contract extension with the English side in February, but with limited game time on offer this season due to Louis van Gaal’s transfer activity, Blackett has moved to the Scottish champions to secure valuable first team football.

The English Under-21 international will link up with former United team mate Saidy Janko who moved to Celtic on a permanent deal during the summer.

Blackett made his debut against Swansea City in last season’s opening day fixture and went on to make 12 appearances in total for van Gaal’s side.

Celtic’s latest signing was introduced to the fans at half-time during Celtic’s game against St.Johnstone in the Premiership on Saturday afternoon.
