Celtic have agreed a fee reportedly around £5.5 million with Dinamo Zagreb for defender Jozo Simunovic, personal terms are being discussed and a work permit application has been submitted.
Simunovic, who has been capped eight times for Croatia’s Under-21 side, will fly into Glasgow on Tuesday to finalise the transfer.
The 21-year-old, who played against Celtic in the 4-3 win for Dinamo in last season’s Europa League, played over 50 times for the Croats in the past two seasons scoring three goals.
Celtic had bid £4 million earlier in the month for the defender, but Zagreb rejected their advances as Peter Lawwell flew out to negotiate a deal.
Meanwhile, Virgil van Dijk has reportedly flown to Southampton to finalise a deal to sign with the English Premier League side for around £11.5 million.
