Celtic flop Amido Balde heading to FC Metz

French side Metz are set to take striker Amido Balde off Celtic’s hands, with the Guinean international set to sign a two year deal on Monday.

Balde, spent last season on loan first with Waasland-Beveren in Belgium and then Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel.

Now it seems the 24 year old flop is heading to Metz – who were relegated to Ligue 2 last season after finishing 19th in Ligue 1 – according to La Republican Lorrain after his contract with Celtic was terminated – despite two years still to go on his deal with the Scottish champions.

Celtic signed Balde from Portuguese outfit Vitoria Guimaraes for just over £1.3 million in June 2013, but failed to secure regular first team football under previous manager Neil Lennon and never made a single appearance for Celtic under Ronny Deila last season.

He made just three starts for Celtic with 20 substitute appearances in his time at Parkhead, scoring just three times. His last appearance for Celtic was in the 3-3 draw with St.Johnstone at McDiarmid Park on 7th May 2014.
