Jimmy Nicholl has resigned as Cowdenbeath manager following relegation to League One at the weekend.
The Championship side finished bottom of the league on the final day after losing 3-0 to Alloa, who leapfrogged Cowdenbeath as did Livingston.
Chairman Donald Findlay said: “It is with regret that I have today accepted the resignation of Jimmy Nicholl as manager of Cowdenbeath.
“I thank Jimmy for all his efforts on behalf of the club. It had been a privilege working with him. We remain friends and I wish him and his family all the best for the future.”
Nicholl previous had managerial spells at Raith Rovers and Millwall, and was in his second spell as manager of the Central Park side.
