Eckersley accepts two match ban for headbutt

Hearts have accepted the two match suspension imposed on Adam Eckersley following his clash with Hibernian midfielder Scott Allan during Sunday’s Edinburgh derby.

The left back had been issued with a notice of complaint by the Scottish FA’s compliance officer for breaching disciplinary rule 200 by headbutting Allan in the second minute of the game, which Hibs won 2-0.

Disciplinary Rule(s) allegedly breached:

Disciplinary Rule 200: In that at the above game you committed violent conduct by head-butting Scott Allan of Hibernian FC.

With only three games remaining, the English defender will miss the home game against Raith Rovers and an away trip to Cowdenbeath. He could return for the Tynecastle side’s final game of the season against Rangers on May 3rd.
