One Direction-inspired football heartache

0

Shock horror Zayn Malik has left One Direction! Unless you are a teenage lassie or an older woman with a thing for toyboys, the news of Malik quitting the manufactured boyband would be as insignificant as the rest of the band.

In fact his departure has caused thousands of wee lassies across the world to break down in tears – with as much waterworks on show as if they had lost a family member.

Now we aren’t that sad or desperate to breakdown over another boy band clone’s departure [honest!] but we thought why not use it to inspire a piece for the website.

So look back on your time as a football fan supporting your club and country – then ask yourself what was the most heartbreaking moment that you ever experienced?

Was it when Scotland failed to reach a major tournament [although that has happened quite a few times over the past two decades]?

Was it when your star player was sold or left the club? Was it your club shutting up shop as it went out of business? Or was it a last minute goal to deny your team a victory?

Just some of the possible options to your football heartache. So why not let us know what your football heartache was an why it was the most heartbreaking moment in football you ever experienced?

But don’t worry it could be worse…. you could be a Doncaster Rovers fan seeing your club sign the guy that can’t sing [okay they all can’t], Louis Tomlinson, during the summer transfer window.
