Stephen O’Donnell rejects Blackpool offer

Partick Thistle defender Stephen O’Donnell has rejected a move to English side Blackpool after the Firhill side accepted a bid of around £125,000 on Monday evening.

However, O’Donnell has rejected a move to Blackpool who are rooted to the bottom of the Championship, preferring to stay at Firhill until the end of the season.

Speaking to the official website, O’Donnell said: “It wasn’t something that came down to money. My agent spoke to Blackpool and we decided that it just wasn’t the right move for me at this time. I’m a Partick Thistle player and will be doing everything I can to make sure we finish as far up the table as possible, with top six still a very real possibility.

“I am happy where I am just now and I’m incredibly proud every time I pull on the Partick Thistle shirt. At this point I don’t know what my future holds but the one thing I am certain of is that I will give my all for Partick Thistle as long as I am a player at the club.”
