Lowland League look at expansion ahead of next season

The Scottish Lowland League have called on clubs interested in joining the league to submit applications ahead of next season.

League chairman Andrew Waddell announced: “The Board of the League have determined that there will be an opportunity for clubs to apply for membership for next season.

“The precise number of vacancies will depend on the effect of promotion and relegation into and out of the SLFL. I would encourage any clubs who may interested in applying, and will meet the criteria, to make contact with us.”

Only clubs with a Scottish FA club licence or ‘have fully funded plans to obtain such a licence by the end of May 2015’.

A decision on what club(s) will be joining the league will be made in May as soon as promotion & relegation are known.

The Lowland League and Highland League champions will play one another with the winner playing the League Two bottom side for the chance to play in the SPFL’s bottom league next season.
