Hamilton Accies manager Alex Neil in talks with Norwich

Hamilton Accies manager Alex Neil is in talks with Norwich City about the vacant manager’s job at Carrow Road, after the Scottish Premiership side gave the 33-year-old permission to speak to the English Championship side.

In a statement on the official Hamilton Accies website, vice chairman Ronnie MacDonald said: “Further to an official approach by Norwich City, permission was granted for our Manager Alex Neil to meet the Norwich Board.

“Alex travelled to Norwich today to view the stadium and training ground. Alex will return tomorrow for a meeting with myself after which a further statement will be made.

“We are delighted that Alex’s achievements have been recognised by this approach and that our policy of progressing players, staff and managers continues.”

Neil was appointed player/manager of Accies in May 2013 and led them to a playoff victory over Hibernian last season to secure promotion to the Scottish Premiership.

After a superb start to the season, Accies currently sit in third place three points behind champions Celtic and four behind league leaders Aberdeen.
