Always Bet on Black: Top up the coffers ahead of Christmas

Tommy Craig is gone, Ally McCoist is going and I’m still here! If only I was as good at predicting football scores as I am at managerial departures then we’d all be a lot happier. I’ve been on a bit of a sliding scale in the last weeks with results getting steadily worse but this week I’ve tried to piece together a coupon that not only has a chance of coming in but also has enough value to make it worth while. So let’s hope that we can top up the coffers with extra cash for the Christmas period.

Note: Aberdeen are going in the coupon for the first time since they let down our 93/1 bet a few weeks ago. If Aberdeen beat this coupon then they are done, it’s finished boys, the show is over and they’ll never appear on this page again.

Partick Thistle v Dundee. Partick Thistle win – 5/4

Dundee are coming into this one on the back of three straight defeats, albeit one against Celtic, and are swiftly moving down the table. Thistle on the other hand seem to be finding a bit of consistency and will have their eyes focussed firmly on a top six finish. Thistle don’t have a great record against Dundee at Firhill but I’m backing them to take all three points in this one.

Aberdeen v Kilmarnock. Aberdeen win – 2/5

Kilmarnock have lost six of their last seven matches in all competitions and I can see them extending that bad run this weekend. Aberdeen will look to make it four wins on the bounce and I can’t see past a victory for the Dons.

Morton v Peterhead. Morton win – 4/5

Peterhead have been the model of inconsistency in League One this season having won five, drawn five and lost five already. Morton might have gone off the boil in recent weeks but I fully expect them to beat this lacklustre Peterhead team.

Forfar v Airdrieonians. Forfar win – 8/13

This game should be the most straight forward one in our coupon. Top of the League Forfar play mid table Airdrie in what should be a straight forward victory for the home side. Airdrie are only sitting a point above Ayr and if results go against them then they could find themselves in the relegation spot by the end of the day.

Dundee United v Celtic. Both teams to score – 8/13

I expect that most of the neutrals watching this will be looking for a Dundee United victory to keep the League title race alive for at least a few more weeks. However, I can’t see Dundee United getting the victory against a Celtic team that knows a win here will all most certainly wrap up the title. I can see Dundee United having a good go though and I’m backing both teams to score.
