Always Bet on Black: A little less adventurous this week

It’s a race between Ally McCoist, Tommy Craig and myself to see who gets sacked first this season. I suppose the one thing that I have in my favour is that my failure is only ever witnessed by two people each week (in fairness this could also apply to Tommy Craig).

I’m still reeling from last week’s near miss. Four out of the five teams were winners and we even managed to predict Spartan’s victory over Morton at 11/2. However, Aberdeen let down our 93/1 coupon and I’ve vowed that Aberdeen are finished with this tipster, at least for the foreseeable future!

This week’s coupon is slightly less adventurous but will still turn a decent profit if our luck is in..

St.Mirren v St.Johnstone. St.Johnstone win – 11/8

St Mirren and their fans have had a hellish time this season and it really doesn’t look like picking up any time soon. A crushing midweek defeat at Inverness Caledonian Thistle has piled even more pressure on Tommy Craig and this game could be the straw that breaks the camel’s back and the one in which Craig loses his job.

Falkirk v Hibernian. Hibernian win – 11/10

Hibernian have had a run of unbelievable form in the last few weeks, they have recorded six consecutive away wins for the first time since the 1940s. A win against a decent Falkirk team at the weekend will stretch that run to seven and I believe Hibernian will do the business.

Raith v Livingston. Raith Rovers win – 4/6

Livingston have had a woeful season this far, managing to pick up only four points in fourteen games. They are in real danger of being cut adrift at the bottom and are already trailing second bottom Cowdenbeath by seven points. Raith are sitting mid table and will have their sights set firmly on a top six finish and they should push on with a win at Livingston.

Arbroath v Annan Athletic. Arbroath win – 4/9

Arbroath are on a good run of form lately, only losing twice in the last nine games and those defeats came against second and third in the table. Arbroath should record another home victory against Annan.

East Fife v Montrose. East Fife win – 8/11

This is a real mid-table clash and either team could expect to record a victory. I’m going with home advantage in this one and East Fife should do us a favour.

This coupon will pay 20/1 at Ladbrokes.
