Nairn County met Strathspey Thistle at Station Park this weekend. Although the visitors started smartly and played some good passing football it was the home side that opened the scoring. A penetrating run by Alan Pollock with a quick pass into space allowed Conor Gethins to slot the ball past an on-coming Steven Dunn on 25 minutes.
The second half saw the bulk of the action and Michael Morrison doubled Nairn County’s lead on 62 minutes. A well-taken free kick by Robert Duncanson allowed Morrison to out-jump the Strathspey defence and his down-ward header kept Dunn rooted to the spot.
Two minutes later Morrison secured the three points with a 30-yard free-kick, worthy to win any game. Veteran goal-keeper Steven Dunn, former Lossiemouth Manager, kept Nairn County at bay with a string of fine saves.
