With the hope of independence put on hold for now, the Scottish people cannot wait for Westminster to fulfill their promises and so we must try to help ourselves. That is why Scotzine is looking to raise funds to help stock the shelves of food banks around Scotland.
As of 2012-13 16% of Scotland’s people live in poverty [around 820,000 people], an increase of 14% from the year before. With 180,000 of our children living in relative poverty an increase of 30,000 than last year. In the 21st Century, let alone Scotland, it is a sickening thought.
Our last charity fundraising initiative raised over £1000 for Yorkhill Children’s Hospital and we aim to match that and do better with the help of our readers and followers. We aim to raise as much money as possible and each month we will use the money donated to buy items needed for the food banks.
We hope that you can donate as much or as little as you can afford. Every donation that is raised is more tins on the food bank shelves. Please use the donation button below. Thank you.
