Scotzine set to launch Indyref special of The Final Whistle Scottish football podcast

On the 18th September 2014, Scotland will decide it’s future – will it vote YES for Independence or NO and stay part of the United Kingdom.

While we all have differing political beliefs and ideology, September’s vote could have a huge effect on Scotland and Scotzine believes that we should ditch the political claptrap and hear what the ordinary person thinks of it all.

So over the next two weeks, Scotzine will record and publish a special edition of The Final Whistle Scottish Football show as we talk to football fans about their take on independence.

We have finalised most of the details already and will iron out all the kinks over the next week or so.

The special podcast will be presented by an as yet undecided journalist, with a panel made up of a Yes, No and Undecided supporter. We will also talk to the fans on social media and beyond to gauge their views and what questions or fears they have over, what can only be described as Scotland’s greatest decision ever.

While there are party loyalties and there are club loyalties, we have seen a huge split in club supporters when it comes down to the indyref – even in the ranks of the Old Firm fans. Not all Rangers fans support the Union and not all Celtic fans support independence.

As for the show itself, it will be a two-hour long debate style show, with less makeup needed than Johann Lamont’s stylist and better jokes than Alex Salmond and his love of pandas. We hope! It will also not be broadcast on PULSE 98.4fm due to rules set down by the station’s hierarchy – so it will be available through Scotzine.com, iTunes and Soundcloud only.

Once we are ready to take questions and comments from you the readers and followers of Scotzine, we will announce it across the Scotzine platform here and on social media. And speak to relevant websites to help promote and spread the word to the masses.

So please keep an eye on Scotzine and its social media platforms as our announcement will be forthcoming with a date and who will be on the show.

In the meantime, we would like you to cast your vote on independence with Scotzine’s dedicated poll below:

Should Scotland become Independent?

  • Yes (76%, 149 Votes)
  • No (23%, 46 Votes)
  • Undecided (1%, 1 Votes)

Total Voters: 196
