Peter Houston appointed Falkirk manager

Former Dundee United manager Peter Houston has been named as the new Falkirk manager and succeeds Gary Holt who joined the coaching staff at Norwich City.

Club chairman Martin Ritchie, commenting on Houston’s appointment, said: “I am thrilled that we have managed to attract someone of the calibre of Peter. Not only was Peter a football legend at Falkirk, he has extensive experience of management and coaching at all levels. There will be no major changes to the club’s football philosophy. We will continue to focus on developing our own players through the Academy and the Under-20’s.”

“Peter will bring that extra dimension which will enable to us to challenge for promotion in what will be a very exciting Championship.”

Houston had been working as a scout for Celtic after leaving Dundee United last year.
