Highland Football League 2014-15 fixtures published


The Highland league fixtures have been released for season 2014-2015 with the pyramid system set to get underway this season, it will now see midweek games taking place over the early stages of the campaign with the 1st series of the midweek games taking place after the 1st game of the league season.

The league season kicks off on August 2nd and it sees champions Brora Rangers starting their defence of the title at home to Huntly, the cattachs will receive their 1st championship flag before kick off.

Last season’s runners-up Inverurie Locos travel to Speyside to tackle Rothes whilst last season’s 3rd and 4th placed teams clash off at Station Park when Nairn County host Formartine United.

The rest of the opening fixtures are as follows:

Clachnacuddin v Cove Rangers, Forres Mechanics v Fraserburgh, Fort William v Buckie Thistle, Lossiemouth v Keith, Strathspey Thistle v Turriff United, Wick Academy v Deveronvale.

The league will be scheduled to finish on the 18th April 2015 and whoever comes out on top this season will have a play off against the Lowland League winners just 7 days later with the SHFL side at home followed by the return leg just 7 days later.

If the Highland League team gets past that stage, their next 2 Saturdays will be playing off against whoever finshes bottom of the SPFL Division 2 league.
