Scottish League Cup: Quarter final draw sees Edinburgh derby



The draw for the quarter finals of the Scottish League Cup was made this afternoon, with the post-mortem over Celtic’s defeat to Morton still continuing in the media.

Morton have been drawn at home against St.Johnstone, while Motherwell will take on Aberdeen at Fir Park.

Scottish Premiership league leaders Inverness Caledonian Thistle will see Dundee United travel north to face off against them.

But the tie of the round has to be the Edinburgh derby as Hibernian will host city rivals Hearts at Easter Road, with Hearts bottom of the pile in the Premiership following the club going into administration during the summer, the Tynecastle side will be looking to get one over on their rivals to boost morale in their camp. While Hibernian will be looking to make it two wins out of two over the rivals in recent cup games.

Inverness v Dundee Utd
Morton v St Johnstone
Hibernian v Hearts
Motherwell v Aberdeen

Ties to be played on 29/30 October.
