Tynecastle will play host to today’s early afternoon kick off and will play host to the final league meeting of the season between Hearts and Ross County. The previous two games between the sides have both ended in 2-2 draws and today’s match will hopefully provide another glut of goals. With each of their post split fates already decided, both teams are playing for points, final league positions and prize money.
It is the troubled Tynecastle side who will be playing in the bottom six after today. They could possibly call on Jamie Hamill to make a long-awaited start after recovering from a troublesome knee injury. However, Darren Barr, is doubtful due to an ankle knock.
For County – who are assured of their top six position in their debut SPL season – are worrying over Vigurs and Morrow as both are doubtful. Former Hibee, Ivan Sproule, is fit and available for selection – he would surely relish the opportunity to put one over on his old rivals today. Goalkeeper Paul Gallacher joins the County squad – a casualty from Dunfermline’s administration. Stuart Kettlewell is also available after suspension.
Although there are points a plenty separating these two teams in the league table, today’s match looks very close to call.
Prediction: Hearts just to edge it and take all three points.
