In what should be the penultimate Highland Derby of this season, Messrs Butcher and Adams must be proud of their teams’ achievements this season. The result at Fir Park last night was probably a disappointment for them but at kick off this afternoon all focus will be on getting a victory over their Highland rival.
County are a point and a place in front of Inverness Caley going into this game and a victory would open up a four point gap over Butcher’s men. They also go in to this match on the back of a magnificent win over Celtic last week coming from two goals down to win 3-2, extending their unbeaten run to an eye-popping eleven games going all the way back to Boxing Day last year. Captain Richard Britain returns and Ivan Sproule may start after missing out last week.
Inverness Caley have left back Graham Shinnie suspended, while fellow defenders King and Hogg are injured.
Prediction: As ever with the Highland derby it will be a close affair, but I will be putting my pennies on an Inverness Caley win.
