McCoist set to walk away from Rangers after Green’s plan to oust him exposed

According to the paper’s sources, McCoist will leave the Ibrox side within the next 48 hours after he confronted Charles Green over his plans.

An unnamed former Rangers director, stated that McCoist is disgusted by what he has discovered and despite Green talking highly of McCoist in public, behind closed doors the Englishman has been secretly planning a managerial coup.

The Record’s unnamed source said: “Honesty, dignity and courage have always been the driving forces in McCoist’s make-up but he doesn’t think those qualities have been in abundance outwith the players, staff and fans.

“Even so he was convinced it was his duty to do everything he could to help Rangers survive but to be told his dismissal had already been spoken about by Green has left him disgusted.”

McCoist was one of the few steadying influences within the stricken 140-year-old institution, but with the news that he is set to walk away from the club as it nears liquidation, it will come as a blow to all those linked with Rangers Football Club.

Despite all of Charles Green’s rhetoric in front of the cameras, it seems that behind the scenes Green has an agenda that he has not yet announced, but if he is indeed successful with securing the club for £5.5 million then that agenda will surely come to the surface sooner or later. However, if the report is true that McCoist will walk, then Green’s tenure has already got off to a bad start and the Rangers fans will be watching on hoping and praying that he isn’t another vulture looking for a quick pay-day to fill those big Yorkshire hands full of money that he so loves to hold.
