Rangers have reportedly rejected a bid from West Ham United for striker Nikica Jelavic. The Championship side lodged an offer of around £7 million for the Croatian after their initial enquiry. However Rangers have rejected the offer, telling West Ham that the offer did not meet their valuation of the player.
© ScotzineThe future of the striker has been speculated since the summer, with Rangers turning down an offer from Leicester City and then a £9 million bid was allegedly lodged by an unnamed club. A number of clubs have been sniffing around Jelavic again during the January transfer window such as: QPR, Liverpool and West Brom, but only West Ham have reportedly made an offer for the top scorer in the Scottish Premier League so far.
On the link with West Ham, Jelavic said: “West Ham are a great club; they are not a second division club. They are a famous Premier League club who happened to be relegated last season and will return to the Premier League next season. It would be nice to play there if the opportunity comes up and the club agrees.”
Whether the bid is true or not, it looks like West Ham will target other players on their list now, one of those being Salomon Kalou of Chelsea with the Upton Park side looking to get the forward on a loan deal.
Clayton has now published since his initial tweet that he asked his source “Is story right about Jelavic? Answer: No. Assume no bid. Schoolboy error on my part. Bid £5 million, not £7 million as reported.”

What goes around comes around, to all the Rangers supporters, enjoy your last days, I remember the 80′s/90′s when you couldn’t wait to tell all about your latest multimillion pound signing, well it turns out, the transfer fees were paid with money you didn’t have and the overinflated wages you paid were “under the table” too.
Karma is a wonderful thing. One last thing………..McCOIST MUST STAY
