The abuse aimed at Hibernian manager Pat Fenlon during the 3-2 victory away to Cowdenbeath is set to go unpunished. Fenlon was the target of sustained abuse from the home fans, much of which centred on his nationality. The Dublin-born manager was seen speaking to the police as he walked away from the pitch after an interview.

Fenlon brushed off the brief chat by saying what was said was ‘between me and the policeman’, he added: “I’m used to abuse. If you’ve played for Linfield and you manage in Ireland you get plenty of abuse.
“I don’t mind that. It’s good banter, as long as it doesn’t get over the top.”
The news of the alleged sectarian abuse will come as another blow to Cowdenbeath, as in December 2011 a 17-year-old player, understood to be Michael Fleming, was arrested with regards to sectarian abuse levelled at Rangers fans on Twitter.
Fife Constabulary Police are not set to act as no complaints have been made by fans and it is understood that Fenlon has not raised the issue with the police or any club officials at Easter Road or Central Park.
A spokeswoman for Fife Constabulary Police said: “Following the Scottish Cup tie at Central Park, Cowdenbeath, on Saturday, as is usual procedure, officers from Fife Constabulary spoke with the match officials and the respective management teams, and nothing of a criminal nature was reported at this time.”
Cowdenbeath have yet to make an official statement regarding the issue.

Once again, an Irish person, being abused in Scotland is let down by our Police Force with selective hearing, or worse still, a viewpoint which sees no wrong in the abuse.
This cannot go on, if this country wants to be a nation in it’s own right it will have to get this anti IRISH attitude sorted out or we will be another Ulster.
Did anything ever come of the admission that the Police had behaved in an anti Celtic fashion?
The two elements tie in, in the eyes of the bigots Celtic & Irish are interchangeable or just the same.
