Earlier this afternoon Everton manager David Moyes has stated: “I never talk about players at other clubs, I wouldn’t do that. I don’t like it and I didn’t like it when I was a player and I kept hearing there were other centre-halves coming in to take my position. I wouldn’t talk about players at other clubs.
“If there was any news I would give it to you. You will need to wait until midnight tomorrow (Tuesday) night and then we will let you know what is happening.”
The Croatian will travel to Merseyside tomorrow to take a medical and to negotiate personal terms.
West Ham who were reportedly interested in the striker, pulled out of chasing the striker. Hammers manager Sam Allardyce said: “If I’m led to believe where it is at the moment, for us it was too expensive. Too expensive – full stop.”
Jelavic signed for Rangers in August 2010 for a reported £4 million from Austrian side Rapid Vienna. He has played 27 games this season for the Ibrox side scoring 17 times.
