Craig Levein names Scotland squad for friendly with Cyprus

0

Huddersfield striker Jordan Rhodes is called up to the squad for the first time, while there are returns for Norwich City defender Russell Martin and QPR striker Jamie Mackie.

Aston Villa Barry Bannon has been dropped by Levein in the wake of being arrested for drink driving, while Celtic’s James Forrest is dropped also. Rangers forward Steven Naismith has been ruled out for up to nine months following confirmation that he has an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

However there is still no place for Leeds United striker Ross McCormack, Celtic defender Charlie Mulgrew, Motherwell’s Jamie Murphy or out of favour Wolves striker Steven Fletcher.
