Brand New Scotland Home Kit Leaked – Like it or Loathe it?

It seems that someone at the SFA pressed publish on images that were only supposed to be released on Tuesday ahead of the new Scotland Home Kit launch by Adidas.

Pre-ordering of the new kit kicks off on Tuesday, when the team will wear it for the first time as they play their last EURO 2012 qualifier against World Champions Spain. However the kit will not be available to the public until the 8th November.

The STV Sport website described the new kit as ‘the first bespoke design the national team will sport from the manufacturers, having been given an off-the-shelf design when a previous deal with Diadora expired’.

In my opinion the only good thing about the kit design is the round badge – that is it!

The design in the middle of the shirt is horrific to say the least, and given that it is the first bespoke design by Adidas, they really do need to return to the drawing board. The collar is reminiscent of the 1978 kit produced then by Umbro, however with the new kit it just does not work, and there is certainly no need to add a saltire below the collar fold.

Have the Adidas kit designers ever heard the phrase ‘less is more?’ Why not just keep the collar and the round badge and ditch the rest?

While the above is certainly my opinion on the new kit design, I would like to hear your opinions on it whether you love it or loath it.
