Hearts comfortably beat Paks 4-1 (5-2 on agg)

Paulo Sergio’s first game in charge as Hearts manager was a successful one as the Tynecastle side ran out easy winners against Hungarian outfit Paksi 4-1 on the night 5-2 on aggregate, securing their Europa League play-off place, alongside Celtic and Rangers.

Ryan Stevenson scored two first half goals to give the hosts a 2-0 half time lead, before further goals from John Sutton and Rudi Skacel sealed the Jambos progression. However Paks grabbed a consolation goal late on through Daniel Bode

Hearts will not await their Europa League fate, with the draw being made tomorrow in Nyon, Switzerland.

Note: Due to our previous statements in regards to Hearts, we did not send a match reporter to Tynecastle for the game nor will we produce anything more than a brief report on the game – due to our stance over the Craig Thomson issue.
