Cillian Sheridan signs for St.Johnstone on loan

St.Johnstone have confirmed that CSKA Sofia striker Cillian Sheridan will join the Perth side on loan for six months until January. The former Celtic youngster spent some time on loan with the Perth Saints two seasons ago and Derek McInnes has brought him back to McDiarmid Park to provide further firepower ahead of the new SPL season.

Sheridan could make his debut against Aberdeen on Saturday, if international clearance is completed.

The striker was recently on trial at fellow SPL side Hibernian last, but returned to Bulgaria after failing to secure a deal with Colin Calderwood’s side.

Hibs manager Colin Calderwood stated on the official Hibs website, that he would not be pursuing Sheridan after the striker completed a trial.

Calderwood said: “I want to focus on players, who want to be at Hibernian and that can bring more potency to our attack. I have other preferred options for strikers, and hope to conclude a deal over the next few days. We know Cillian has other options and wish him all the best at whatever club he chooses to join.”

Meanwhile the club have stated that they will not be signing trialist Danijel Subotic.
